We are currently working on the next release and you are welcome to check out the beta work on wms.mapuse.net/cal3 The beta will be launched in December 2006. There are lots of new stuff - also GIS related things like wms and wfs access to the routes. RSS is used widely to feed users with routes based on search criteria like "Hiking routes in ca", "Routes near Carson City", "Mountain Biking or backpacking routes near my home" etc. All routes are geocoded against states, counties, nearest city and town and the five nearest places (gnis database). Another great new feature is new "Route player" which can be embedded on any web page or blog like this:

So after a trip, upload the gpx, grab the code, place it in your blog and show the world how far, high and fast you went. We'll later offer other means for embedding routes like a inline mini map client.
